What is the BETA THREE MB3 Magic Box?
MB3 is a true 3-way, battery-powered portable PA speaker with built-in mixer-style connectivity. It is designed for singers, musicians, buskers, music teachers, worship teams, event hosts, cafés, rehearsals and small live performances.
It combines an 8-inch woofer with a 5-inch and 1-inch coaxial mid/high-frequency unit, helping vocals, instruments and backing tracks remain clear and balanced across the full mix.
Why does MB3 use a true 3-way speaker system?
A true 3-way system assigns low, middle and high frequencies to dedicated drivers.
The 8-inch woofer handles the low end, while the separate midrange and high-frequency drivers help vocals and instruments sound more natural and defined. This is especially useful when playing voice, instruments and backing tracks through the same speaker.
Instead of forcing one small driver to reproduce everything, MB3 is designed to keep the mix clearer from the bass through the vocal range and upper frequencies.
Is one MB3 enough for my performance?
One MB3 is suitable for many solo performances, busking sessions, rehearsals, classrooms, cafés, presentations and small events.
The result will depend on the room, audience size, background noise, speaker position and required volume. For wider coverage, stereo playback or larger spaces, the DUO setup with two MB3 speakers is the better choice.

Can I connect a microphone, instrument and music at the same time?

Do I need an external mixer?
Not necessarily.
MB3 is designed to handle common microphone, instrument and playback setups directly through its onboard inputs.

Correct microphone placement and speaker positioning are still important. No feedback-control system can completely compensate for placing a live microphone directly in front of the speaker at high volume.
